Bio

Lois died from "The Fever" as many did in 1910. She was said to have had long brown hair. We haven't found a death certificate for her, but we know that her father was buried beside her in Mustang Prairie Cemetery. The grave of Lois and her father Rufus were unmarked, at first. About 1951-1952, my father and his 2nd wife Nell, my mother, went to the graveyard and searched for many days to find the graves of his father and sister. My mother told the story many times about how Elzia or "Sanders", as my mother called him, dug in various locations in the graveyard for days, looking for the place where they were buried. She said, he finally found the steel vault of his father, then the grave next to him of Lois.
