Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Nowlin, 97, of Colmesneil were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Colmesneil Baptist Church. Rev. D N Davis and Rev. Decker Sanders, Baptist ministers officiated. Mrs. Nowlin was buried in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery at Dies. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Claude, Frank, Billy M & Glen Nowlin, Bob Comte, and Burtis Davis. Mrs. Nowlin died Wednesday night in Parkview Hospital in Houston. She was a native of Mississippi but had lived in Tyler County from the time she was a small child until four years ago, when she made her home with Mrs. J D Butler in Chance-Rose. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are four sons, Pat Nowlin of ___________, TX, Jason Nowlin of Colmesneil, W T Nowlin of Port Arthur, and Bowman Nowlin of Port Neches, two daughters, Mrs. Myrtie Belcher of Houston, and Mrs. Erma Butler, 12 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
