Sun Herald, The (Biloxi, MS) - August 2, 2001 BILOXI --- Louis Bernt, 84, died Monday, July 30, 2001, in Biloxi. Mr. Bernt was a native of Platte Center, Nebraska, and had lived in Biloxi for 16 years. He was a retired meat packer at Cudahy Packing Co. in Omaha, Neb., and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Bernt; his parents, Gustav and Theresa Bernt; a sister, Laura Bernt; and a brother, Martin Bernt. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly A. Pauley of Biloxi and Constance Slack of Albany, Oregon; three sisters, Madaline Arasmith of Columbus, Nebraska, Evelyn Daves of Hemet, California, and Lorraine Cotie of Fairfax, California; a brother, Raymond Bernt of Jacksonville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. 2001 The Sun Herald
