MRS. CHANCEY CREMEEN DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS Edith Alice Cremeen, wife of Chancey Cremeen, died last Thursday evening at a Columbus hospital after a brief illness. She had been ill only a few days, suffering with a throat infection which Dr. Elwood diagnosed as Diphtheria, and his diagnosis was later proven by state tests. Edith Alice Younger was born June 1, 1888 and passed away July 15, 1937 at the age of 49 years, 1 month, 14 days. As a little girl she came to Nebraska with her parents, Calvin and Cora Younger and except for a few years her entire life was spent in Polk county, Nebr. She was united in marriage to Chancey Cremeen on Feb. 28, 1913 and to this union was born 5 children. She was a member of the M.E. Church of Fairview and was an enthusiastic leader in various community activities. Her interest was always in the good things of life. Edith was a devoted and unselfish mother and her loving presence will be greatly missed by her husband and children: Melvin of Scotts Mills, Ore., Clarence, Chester, Corabell and Alice, at home. She also leaves her father and step-mother, Calvin and Myrtle Younger of Big Springs, Neb., one sister, Mrs. Clyde Willets of Polk, two brothers, Rollie of Bremerton, Wash., and Estes of Los Angeles, Cal. There are many other relatives and a host of friends who grieve her departure. Due to the cause of her death the body was held at the Kepner undertaking parlors until Monday afternoon, when it was taken to the Cremeen home, where a brief funeral service was conducted by Rev. McClure and the remains were taken to the Beulah cemetery for internment. Rev. McClure also conducted a short funeral service at the grave. Those coming from a distance to visit the home and attend the funeral were Melvin Cremeen, Scotts Mills, Ore., Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Younger of Big Springs, Mrs. M. Carter and son Kenneth and Mrs. Mont Duncan of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cremeen of Arcadia, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Willets of Polk.
