Chico Record (Chico, California) 09 Jan 1930, Thursday Page 4: William Grafe Taken by Death. Death claimed William Grafe, 75, at his home at Fourth Avenue and North Hazel Street. A native of Germany, Mr. Grafe had lived here for the last 24 years, following the trade of carpenter. Survivors are three sons, William J., Frank and Cyril Grafe, all of Oroville; seven daughters, Mrs. Josephine Powning of Loyalton, Mrs. Marie Combs of Bakersfield, Mrs. Molly Waterman of Chico, Mrs. Anna Pearl of Woodland, Mrs. Emma Walsh of Fresno and Misses Agnes and Julia Grafe of Chico, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Westfall Funeral Home, the Rev. Father J.B. Dermody officiating. Funeral services for William Grafe, 75, who died Wednesday at his home at Fourth avenue and North Hazel street, Chico, were held this afternoon in the Westfall Funeral Home in Chico. The Rev. Father James B. Dermody officiated. Burial was in Chico cemetery. Grafe was the father of William J., Frank and Cyril Grafe of Oroville. He was a native of Germany and had lived in Chico 24 years.
