The Chico Enterprise-Record (Chico, California) 25 Feb 1953, Wednesday Page 3: Services Planned Tomorrow for William J. Grafe. Oroville – Funeral services will be held tomorrow for William J. Grafe, 67, who died Monday evening at his home here. A pioneer in the automobile business in Oroville, he had been in failing health since he suffered a heart attack several weeks ago. Services will be conducted from the Hamilton and Riley Funeral Chapel. Rev. E.E. Peterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Jewish Cemetery. Mr. Grafe leaves his wife, Bertha; a son, Harry K., of Sacramento; a brother, Cyril E. of Oroville; and six sisters: Mrs. Jose Powning and Mrs. Mollie Waterman, both of Chico; Mrs. Julia Call and Mrs. Agnes Gatlin, both of Orland; Mrs. Anna Pearl of Woodland and Mrs. Emma Walsh of Santa Cruz. A native of Nebraska, Mr. Grafe had made his home here for 35 years, and had the first Chevrolet dealership in town.
