Bio
Mrs. Troy (Mozelle) Sheffield of Gatesville died January 28. She was 78. Services were held Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Yeilding officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. Mrs. Sheffield was born January 20, 1915, in Osage, where she was reared and attended school. She was the daughter of the late B.M. (Mack) and Kate Griffith. On July 16, 1931, she married Troy E. Sheffield. After their marriage, they resided in Osage until moving to Gatesville in 1940. She was a nursing assistant at Darnall Army Community Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service. Mrs. Sheffield was a member of First Baptist Church in Gatesville. Troy and Mozelle Sheffield celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 14, 1991. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Janice Gibson of Waco; one son, Charles Sheffield of Temple; two sisters, Florence Gatlin of Gatesville and Lucille Lynch of Oglesby; one brother, Glenn O. Griffith of Kempner; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Pallbearers were Mike Sheffield, Charles Odom, Kermit Lynch, Monte Sheffield, Danny Griffith and Billy Lynch.
