Bio

Virgil Sigsby "Pap" Holley was born on June 30, 1898, his father, John Lewis Holley, was 30 and his mother, Archie, was 24. His firs marriage was to Florence Elma Pope. They were married in about 1917. She and their baby both died on 10 October 1918 as a result of Spanish Flu. Both she and the baby were buried together. He married Vera Gladys Smith on May 4, 1920, in Taiban, New Mexico. They had five children in 10 years. He died on October 26, 1944, in Isleta, New Mexico, at the age of 46, while on train to seek medical treatment. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
