Bio

Attle Allen Read, 74, of Woodville, passed away on November 25, 2008. Born November 9, 1934 in Emilee, Texas to G. Claborn and Ora Lee Peace Read, he lived in Tyler County most of his life. He graduated from Warren High School in 1952 and served his country in the Air Force for over 21 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Bethlehem Steel and Champion International before retiring as an electrician. He was a faithful member of the Woodville Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Read and a son, Keith Read, survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Lee Hudson Read; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee and Cheryl Read, Bill and Cindy Read; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Margaret Read; sisters, Vera Jordan and Sarah Lee Cowart; grandchildren, Christofer Read and wife, LeAnn, Jennifer Read, Destiny, Dezirae and Dakota Read and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Bellamy and Brother Gene Greer officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery.
