Bio

J. Ray Keener Prominent Local Merchant, Dies. The Grafton Sentinel. Grafton, WV. Nov. 13, 1959. Abstract--age 69, of Country Club Road, manager and owner of the J. Ray Keener Feed Store for 40 years, died Nov. 12, at the St. Mary's Hospital, Clarksburg, after an illness of three weeks. He was born in Taylor Co., March 8, 1890, s/o the late John A. and Margaret Rogers Keener. He is survived by his wife, May Menear Keener; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary Margaret) Hadley, Jr. of Charlottesville, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Gawthorp, Pruntytown; and one grandson, Steven Hadley. He was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie, and one brother, Roy. He was a veteran of WW I. Burial was in the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery, Grafton.
