Edward Long and Catherine Julian parents of Lydia Lydia Long's father was Edward Long and his son Solomon Long is incorrect and records have their correct and proven names as Edward and Solomon Long. Edward's gravestone is also wrong and was put there after his grave was moved. His family in 1827 would not have used the birthdate 1744 and would not have used Ed as a nickname. It's research that was taken from very bad and unproven SAR and DAR memberships that were not entitled to join because we had no Long Ancestor in the Rev War. They used Solomon Long of South Carolina born in 1744 and died in 1786 and attached him as the first name of Edward creating Solomon Edward Long Vienna Long daughter of Samuel Long and Margaret Berry had three daughters who claimed to be descendants of Solomon Long and used Edward's son as Solomon son and joined DAR When the three daughters joined under Solomon Long who was not their Ancestor they were approved anyway. Vienne Long married Robert Cooke Buckner's daughters who joined DAR Maggie Buckner Goode Addie Buckner Beddoe Mary Bell Buckner Coleman claimed to be a descendant of Solomon Long Mary Bell Buckner Coleman's son Robert C Buckner Coleman join SAR on Mar 4, 1940, approved on Mar 5, 1940, Claimed to be descendants of Solomon Edward Long His 3rd great grandfather Solomon Edward Long was born in 1744 and died in 1786 wife Catherine Julian Catherine is the proven wife of Edward 4th great grandfather Gabriel Tobias Long 1720 no birthplace no death date wife Barbara Blair What a joke! Gabriel and Tobias are two men Elizabeth Blair married no one She is a name on a piece of paper and it means nothing If you have her in your family tree you are not a serious researcher So here is the reason thousands of Long researchers have Edwards's name, Solomon Edward and so much incorrect research on Edward Long and his descendants We are not related to Solomon Long 1744-1786 Served as Corponal 1779 in Capt Admian Priveaut Co. Lieut Col Frances Marion's South Carolina Regiment He was in the Rev War Edward Long was not.
