Thanks to contributor #47466150 Sherman County Times 28 Aug 1952 Funeral services were held at nine o'clock Tuesday morning at the St. Josaphat's Catholic Church for Peter Sok, 82, who died Friday, Aug. 22, at his home in Loup City. The Rev. Milan Kopushar offered the requiem high mass and the St. Josaphat's school choir sang the mass. Burial was in the St. Josaphat's cemetery. Badura Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Stephen Sok, Tekamah; Adrian Kush, Ord; Alvin Vetick, Silver Creek; Alphonse Kuth, Genoa; Bernard Vojehoske, Fullerton; and Stanley Golus, Loup City. Peter Sok was born May 15, 1870, in Poland, and came to the United States at the age of 33. He settled in Chicago, where he married Anna Wojchekoske. In 1908 they moved to Boone county, Nebraska, where they farmed for five years. From there they moved to Sherman county and farmed until 1936. At that time they retired from the farm and made their home in Loup City. He is survived by his wife, Anna; children, John of Tekamah, Frank of Montebella, Calif., Michael of Ord, Sister Marysin, SSND, of Belleville, Ill., Sister M. Carmelda, SSND, of Lawrence, Nebr., Sister M. Loindine, SSND, of La Mesa, Calif., Leo of Loup City, Tess Marshall of Chicago, Floyd Sok of Downey, Calif., and Frances Adams of Honolulu, T.H.:?, 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Sophia, Peggy, and Stella; by his parents; and by brothers and sisters whose names are not known.
