Obituary for Jesse Lee read: Lake Village, April 10: Jesse Lee Ashley, age 67, of Oak Grove, La., formerly of Lake Village died Monday at an infirmary here. He was a native of Carlisle. He lived at Lake Village 10 years before moving to Oak Grave, La. about three years ago. Mr. Ashley was a section foreman of the Missouri Pacific Lines at Oak Grove. He as a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a mason. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Jane Ashley; three sons, J.E. Ashley of Lake Village, C.W. Ashley of Alexandria, VA. and Bruce E. Ashley of Camden; two daughters, Mrs. W.J. Whitaker of Lynwood, Ca., Mrs. R.B. Abernathy of South Gate, Ca.; a brother Lee Ashley of Alexandria, La.; three sisters, Mrs. George Davis of Vicksburg, Ms., Mrs. J.E. Goff of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Bertha Cupp of Alexandria, La; 10 grandchildren. Funeral will be at PM Wednesday at New Bethel Assembly of God Church near here. Burial will be at Mer Rouge, La, by Downey Funeral Service of Lake Village.
