Son of Absolem and Parthena Spicer. William came to Warren county with his parents, settling initially in the Ellison area. William married Mary Ann Murphy , in McDonough county, Illinois on 24 February 1895, and settled in Roseville for several years. They moved to Monmouth with their children about 1904, as William took employment with the Pattee Plow works in Monmouth for a period of 25 year. By trade, he was a gunsmith and a watchmaker. He suffered from heart disease for a number of years before his death. William was survived by his wife, sons Vern and Layle of Monmouth, and George of Roseville, and seven grandchildren. His funeral was held at the Lugg & Holiday Chapel in Monmouth, with Rev. W. M. Hay of the West Side U. P. church officiating. ∼ Will married Mary Ann Murphy in 1895 they had 3 sons. 1.George Dewy Spicer 2.Vern Taylor Spicer 3.Layle Junior Spicer. Will was a watchmaker and gunsmith.
