Published in the Athens Review April 20, 1950 Final rites were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff for Troy S. Reese, resident of that community since 1926. Rev. L.B. Fowler and Rev. Joel Haley officiated. Interment was in the Malakoff City Cemetery. Mr. Reese, 63, passed away at a Corsicana hospital early Wednesday. He was taken to the hospital Tuesday. The deceased was born in Hemmings, Alabama. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Valmore Rogers of Malakoff; three brothers, Walter Reese of Houston and John and Nelson Reese of Malakoff; one sister, Mrs. Solon Blackstock of Mineola, and six grandchildren.
