David Reese (27729144) Suggested edit: Published in the Athens Review June 17, 1948 David H. Reese of Malakoff died Sunday night at 7 o'clock in a Corsicana hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Malakoff, with the Rev. Joel Haley officiating. Burial was in the Malakoff Cemetery. The Carroll & Lehr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Reese was born on October 1, 1875, at Winfield, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Reese, and moved to Malakoff when he was a young man. He resided there most of the time since then. He was formerly employed by the Malakoff Fuel Company, and part of the time was a cattle trader. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Mae Reese; two sons, Bill Reese and Raymond Reese, both of Malakoff; three daughters, Mrs. Charlie Graham of Malakoff, Mrs. O.F. Blackstock of Mineola and Mrs. Myrtle Ray of Malakoff; five brothers, Nelse Reese, Troy Reese, John Reese and Cooper Reese, all of Malakoff and Walter Reese of Houston; One sister, Mrs. Solon Blackstock of Mineola; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
