Bio

Mrs. Minnie Rebecca White Piper, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 1959 in a Duncan, Oklahoma hospital. She was born March 20, 1880 at Evant, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. D. W. White. Both parents and two brothers, J. H. White and Henry White preceded her in death. She was married to James Virgil Piper November 19, 1904. He preceded her in death, also. Six children were born to the Pipers Mrs. Forrest Venable of Duncan, Okla.; Lloyd Piper of Dallas; James V. Piper Jr. of Houston; Mrs. T. E. Garretson of Davenport, Okla.; Luther Piper of Brownwood, and William Piper of Beaumont. Mrs. Piper lived at Evant all her life until two years ago when failing health forced her to move to Oklahoma to the home of her daughter. She joined the Baptist Church when she was nine years old and was the last living member of the Hines Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her six children, she is survived by two brothers, Will White of Austin and Jim White of Alice; 13 grandchildren, and six great children. Funeral services were held from the Evant Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at four o'clock with Billy Butts, Sammy Drake and Keith Robertson officiating. Special music was furnished by S. L. Tate. Burial was in Hines Chapel Cemetery with the Evant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were grandsons T. J. Venable, Ted Garretson, Paul Piper, Grady Venable, Patrick Piper, Trent Piper and Jimmy Piper. Contributor: Paul Piper (47958801) Marriage to J. V.
