Bio

James Elbert "Ross" Goates was the son of John William "Terry" Goats and Sarah Ann "Sally" McCutcheon. He married Arizona Martin on July 30, 1899 in Rosenberg, Fort Bend, Texas. They had six children. James served in the Texas 2nd Infantry in the Spanish-American War. Sometimes his middle name is spelled as Albert. Their children were: James Joshua "Joshie" Goates Florence Lenny Goates Gray Ira Jackson "Orrie" Goats, Sr. Alize Zexie "Alice" Goates Glick George Haskell Goates Henry Dee Goates, Sr.
