"John Labau and Anna Poncik" married 24 November 1874 with Peter V. Gury, Rector of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Frelsburg, Texas officiating. Marriage record filed 11 January 1875 in Colorado County, Texas. Eagle Lake, Jan. 12. ---John Labay, an influential citizen of the Nada section, fell from a wagon loaded with baled hay yesterday, the wheels passing over his breast, rendering him unconscious, from which he died in a few hours. Mr. Labay owned and conducted a cotton gin at Nada, this county, and was quite well to do. [Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery] Weimar Mercury January 19, 1907 John was born 4 May 1853 in Hutisko, Moravia, Austria.
