Crawford County Democrat Thursday September 9, 1897 OBITUARY Mrs. Sara E. Wood, wife of James B. Wood, died at their beautiful home in Alton at 12 o'clock on the 25th day of Aug., of a disease of the type of Tuburculosus after an illness of many years. Deceased was a native of Crawford county and was forty one years old. She was married Sept. 16, 1876, and was mother of but two children. One only of which survives her. She was the daughter of Abraham and Catharine Kemp, a member of one of the foremost families of Boone township. She leaves a husband and son, father and mother; two brothers and four sisters and many others relatives and friends who mourn her departure. She was buried in the old family cementer known as the Sheckells burying grounds at 3 o'clock p. m. on the 26th in the presence of many friends and relatives. - Mark Kemp
