Bio
Andrew Ziola, an old settler of this county, passed away at his home north of Ashton, Friday Jan. 14th, after an illness of some 14 days from leakage of the heart and dropsy. Andrew Ziola was born in Poland and came to America when about 21 and was about 67 years old at the time of his death. He first settled in Howard county moving to Sherman county in 1909 on the place where he died. He was married to Miss Anna Bawiec when 25 years old. To this union was born 11 children, one dying in infancy. Those surviving are: Mrs. Walter Woitalewicz, Mrs. Victor Grudzinski, Sofie and Lucy; Mike, Louis, Stanley, Sylvester, Edward and Edmond, all of this community. Fifteen grandchildren and his aged widow who remains to mourn his death. The funeral services were held from the St. Francis church of Ashton, Father A. Jarzemski conducting the services and the remains followed by a large number of relatives and friends was entered in the St. Francis cemetery here. --Courtesy of The Ashton Herald, January 21, 1927-- Contributor: Diane (47528261)
