Bio
Mr. R. J. Howard aged 63 of Cleveland died February 25, 1977 in a Houston hospital. A native of Libery County, he was born December 14, 1913. He was a member of the Baptist church and a pumper in oil production. Survivors include his sisters, Mr. Erma Reed, Mrs. Alice Keyser, Miss Elma Rae Howard, Mrs. Mary Shaw, Mrs. Mildred Hill all of Cleveland, brother Albert "Mike" Howard of Cleveland; 4 nephews and two neices. Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Sunday Feb. 27, 1977 from the Pace Stancil Funeral Chapel with Rev. L. A. Richardson of Port Arthur officiating. Pallbearers were Warney DeSpain, Jimmy Rhodes, Jimmy Mashaw, Lloyd Meadows, Kenneth Riggs, and Ronnie Pechacek. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Dishongh, Warren Despain, Marvin Reeves, Forest Yancey and Marvin Mitchell. Burial was in Cleveland City Cemetary with Pace Stancil Funeral Home of Cleveland directing all services.
