"I remember Uncle "Slick" from the time I was about 7 years old and lived in West Texas with my family back in the early 60s. The funniest thing I remember about him was how he got his nickname. My Dad told us that when "Slick" was a young child he got into a can of axle grease, and smeared it all over him. Slick's dad, Poppa "Cap" Prater (my Grandfather) must have thought it funny as heck because after that he nicknamed him "Slick". My Dad thought it was funny too, because laughed as he told this story." *The above ancedote was provided by pfw6591 (51444208)*
