http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~neplatte/vitals/vitals1964.html The Daily Telegram, June 12, 1964 KLUG--Mrs. Anna Klug dies, funeral services Monday Mrs. Anna Klug, 82, of 1856 22nd avenue, died Thursday evening at Lutheran hospital after a lingering illness. She had been bedfast several weeks. Last rites will be conducted Monday at 1:15 p.m. at Gass Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Shell Creek. The Rev. William Saas will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday. She was born Dec. 28, 1881, in Colfax county, the daughter of Johann and Anna Gisin Klug and attended Dist. 8 school, Colfax county. On Jan. 30, 1902, she was married to Herman Klug at the home of her parents. They lived 12 miles northeast of Columbus until retiring and moving here in 1949. Mrs. Klug was a member of St. John's, Shell Creek, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was formerly a member of the Ladies Aid, and formerly served as church organist. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Charlotte) Kasper of Columbus; three sons, Werner, Paul and Clemens, all of Richland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955; three brothers, Emil, John and William Klug, all of Columbus; also one brother and one sister in childhood; and one grandchild.
