Parents Ezra Gale & Melvina Ina Ormsby Gale.Of Turmbull Co Ohio. Her father died when she was 8 yrs. Her mother married another Gale family member William Gale, and the family moved to Custer Co NE. She married Arthur Columbus Clayton abt 1892 prob. NE, they had two children May Cora & Henry Arthur Clayton. Rose was one of the first women allowed to compete in rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier days 1899. Was with the Charles Irwin Show, winner of Denver Post Championship 3 horse change relay race 1906. She was a rodeo contestant in most Western State Rodeo's. She rode with the stage name" Prairie Rose Henderson". Feb 1933 Green Mt. Fremont Co WY she went looking for a stray horse just as a blizzard hit. Neighbors found the dogs locked in a shed, search parties scoured for miles around her cabin, not to be found. Seven yrs later July 1939 a sheepherder found her bones near Green Mt., a wild range fire was raging that day in the area. Coroner Pickett of Rawlins determined Rose froze to death in the blizzard. Parents buried in Evergreen Cemetery Bristoville,Turmbull, OH Brothers: Earnest E. #51883252, Robert E.#59796164 Elmer Ezra d. bef.1900, William Gale Bristolville OH, sister Emma May Hoskins d. Los Angeles 1955. Rose also was married to Homer E. Corwin in SLC UT. 1914-1926.
