Emil Zila, 85, a carpenter, died October 10, 1996, at a local nursing home. Mr. Zila was born May 23, 1911, in Pierce County, Nebraska, to Joseph and Anna (Scharf) Zila. He was married June 14, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Lois (Scotten) Zila, who is deceased. He is survived by a stepson, Jack Noell, a stepdaughter, Betty Hennings, two brothers, George and Edwin, two sisters, Clara Tharnishand Elsie Sukup, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Jr. and Elmer, and one sister, Ann Fausset. Mr. Zila had served as a chief radar operator in the Army from 1942 to 1945, having attained the rank of sergeant. He received the Good Conduct Medal.
