Bio
Shelby J. Sluss Kilgore, age 81, of Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 2024 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born October 27, 1942 in Coeburn, VA to the late Sam and Doris Meade Sluss, and has lived in the Bristol area since 1969 and at The Waters of Bristol the past 4 ½ years. For years she worked the front desk at Holiday Inn. She was a member of Fellowship Chapel. Most knew her as "The Cook" amongst her family and church family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to numerous places while he served eight years in the military. Some of the places she enjoyed included Missouri, Tampa, Fla, Charleston, SC, Savannah, Ga., and Richmond, VA. She will be greatly missed by not only her family but her church family as well. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Erchel Sluss, Bryan Sluss, and Curtis Sluss. Those left to cherish her memories include her loving husband, Charles "Randy" Kilgore; daughter, Terri K. Robinson and husband Kenny; special daughter, Tab Robinson and husband Matthew; granddaughters, Michaela Brady and husband Sean, Meagan Robinson, and Kendra Robinson; great grandchildren, Ander, Braelyne, Conor, Olivia, Carter, Christian, Ella Jean, Harmony, and Theo; sister, Crystal Stallard; sisters-in-law, Tonya Hancock and husband Preston, Kaye Greear and husband Larry, Glenda Sluss, and Edith Sluss; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life honoring Mrs. Kilgore will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Fellowship Chapel with Rev. Scott Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Chapel (food service ministries), 201 Crockett St., Bristol, VA. 24201. Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
