CYRIL C. DIEDERICH Services for Cyril C. Diederich, 68, of 107 16th Street, Silvis, Illinois, are 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in National Cemetery Arsenal Island. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary where a prayer service is at 8:30. He died Monday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. Mr. Diederich was born May 25, 1919 in St. Bernard, Nebraska. He married Alice Skalberg, March 31, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was employed as a sheet metal worker at John Deere Harvester, East Moline for 20 years. He was a Army veteran of World War 2. He was a member of the church. Survivors include daughter, Gaileen Buckley, East Moline and Jane Schneckloth, Bettenforf; sons David and Richard, both of East Moline and Jonathan, Greenville, South Carolina; six grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Arlt, Lindsay, Nebraska, Adeline Bierman, Dearborn, Michigan, Luella Heald, Silvis, and Gerry VanderBeke, East Moline; brothers, Clarence, Columbus, Nebraska, Elmer, Dearborn, Michigan; Edwin, West Covina, California; Harold, Silvis; Eugene, Carbon Cliff; Roman, Omaha, Nebraska; Kenneth, East Moline; and Joseph, Indianapolis, Indiana. Survivors include his daughters, Gaileen (Robert) Conover, Punta Gorda, Jane (Jack) Schneckcloth, Dothan, Ala.; sons, David, Punta Gorda, Richard (Pam), Carbon Cliff, Jonathan (Melanie), Moline; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Lewis, LeClaire; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
