Bio

The family story concerning Mitchell's death is as follows: Mitchell was helping repair a wheel on a wagon. When he was replacing it, the wheel fell causing Mitch to fall backwards onto a pine stob which pierced his spleen and kidney. He entered Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont, Jefferson Co., TX on 10 FEB 1912 and died there 20 FEB 1912. The death certificate verifies this account of his death by stating he had suffered a traumatic rupture of the spleen and kidney, causing hemorrhaging and sepsis.
