Bio

"Black Tom" Holmes was named Thomas Green to honor the Confederate leader with whom his father served during the Civil War. He was the son of Thomas Harrison Holmes and his first wife, Sarah Ann Elizabeth Hawthorne ( married Aug. 10, 1865 in Jasper Co., TX) "Black Tom" had 2 wives: ( Arsula West and Stella Cartee) and many chidren, but sadly many of these died in infancy. This is attributed to the Rh factor in the blood ( discover with his youngest son, Jack Holmes.)
