Louise "Red" Phillips, 101, of Rosenberg Texas, passed away on October 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 3, 1924 in Beasley Texas to parents, James and Millie Goates. Louise was a charter member at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg where she taught Sunday School to the preschool kids. She was also a leader in many other children's ministries. She loved to study her family's genealogy and was known as the family historian to her loved ones. She frequently volunteered at the Richmond library in the genealogy department. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge with the public. For over 25 years she worked at Travis Elementary where she assisted the younger students during the lunch times if they needed help. She always enjoyed the kids. We often encountered some of her students around town and shared memories of when they went to school during her time there. This loving mother, sister, and grandma will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce Phillips, Sr.; parents, James and Millie Goates; son, Bruce Phillips, Jr.; siblings, Willburn Goates, Nettie Bell Prihoda, and Bettie Ann Gorka; along with her granddaughter, Mellisa Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Youngblood (Philip); grandchildren, Greg Pitts (Ladonna), Wendy Phillips (partner, Ron Corcoron), and Kristy Phillips (partner, Robert Taylor); and her sister, Bonnie Fogle. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends . A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park located in Rosenberg.
