Bio
Josie Nell Henry, 66, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 3, 1959, in Winters, Texas to Monroe Tischler and Annie Tischler Rackow. Josie had a heart for helping others and especially enjoyed doing outreach for older members of her community. She loved listening to country music, watching her westerns and scary movies, and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was being at home surrounded by those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Annie Tischler; brothers Harvey Tischler, Homer Tischler, Edwin "Pip" Tischler, Kenneth Tischler, and Calvin Tischler; and her sister Adalene Tomlinson. Josie is survived by her husband, Ray Henry; her sons, Bobby Knight and his children Zayden, JJ, and Andrea; and David Knight and his wife Mellisa, along with their children Aiden, Damien, and Gavin. She is also survived by her sisters Nelda Briley, Eva Hollis, and Serena Maas; her niece Michelle Martinez; and great-nephew Colton Martinez. A viewing will be held at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Josie will be remembered for her kind and giving heart, her easy laughter, and the way she made everyone feel like family. She had a gift for bringing comfort and warmth wherever she went, and her love will live on in the many lives she touched.
