James was a son of Simeon Wilhoit "Sim" Talburt (yes, we are aware of the difference in spelling; both come from their gravestones) and Mary Francis "Fanny" Yoakum . He married Mahala Elizabeth Crownover about 1869, probably in Baxter County, Arkansas. The issue from this union was ten-fold: Jesse H.
