Paul Labenz age 89 of Humphrey, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Heritage at Fountain Point in Norfolk. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday, September 11 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil service to follow, all at St. Francis Church. Visitation continues on Thursday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Interment is in St. Francis Cemetery. Paul Labenz was born July 3,1936 in Humphrey to Joseph and Clara (Wilhelm) Labenz. He grew up in Humphrey and attended St. Francis Schools. On April 4, 1959, Paul was united in marriage to Marilyn Drawbaugh at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. Besides farming the family farm, Paul worked road construction, drove the school bus for Humphrey Public Schools, and worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 33 years. Following his retirement from Behlen's, Paul worked for a farmer and cattle feeder and later worked for Humphrey Township maintaining roads. Paul enjoyed attending basketball games, going on tour bus trips, playing cards daily, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of St. Francis Church and the Knights of Columbus. Paul is survived by: Wife Marilyn of Norfolk Son Kurt (Sharon) Labenz of Gretna Son Keith (Janelle) Labenz of Norfolk Daughter Karen (Dustin) Premer of Kearney Eight Grandchildren Three Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews He is preceded in death by: Parents Joseph and Clara Labenz Brother Donald Labenz Sister Pat (Elmer) Korth Sister Rita (Sylvester "Pep") Weidner Sister Marceda (Gene) Masur
