Bio
Obie Lee Teague of Thackerville, OK, was born September 10, 1926, in Tioga, TX, the son of Ed and Emily Hodges Teague. He passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, at his residence at Thackerville at the age of 81. A resident of Thackerville since 1965, Mr. Teague had previously made his home in Gainesville, TX. He and Virginia Rains were married in Gainesville on September 2, 1950. Mr. Teague was a retired vacuum former for Weber Aircraft, Gainesville. A veteran of WWII, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1944 at Gainesville and was discharged in 1946. He was an expert marksman and also transported POW's and truck drivers for officers and men on leave at Pearl Harbor. He had also worked for Barnes Brothers Oil Company and Boydware Cement. When he was able, he enjoyed playing bingo. Mr. Teague loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them. He was also proud of his grandsons-in-law. Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Goldie Aaron, Marie Watkins, Claudia Wilson, Eunice, and an infant sister; and two brothers, Arthur and Cokie Teague.
