Barbara Ann (Kramolis) Matus, age 78, of Elm Mott, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Elm Mott. Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Barbara was born November 4, 1946, in West, the beloved daughter of Bob and Antonie (Kolar) Kramolis. She attended Abbott, Ross, and St. Mary's Schools and graduated from West High School in 1965, where she played basketball. In 1979, she earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from McLennan Community College. On July 8, 1967, Barbara was united in marriage to Edward Matus in West. Together, they owned and operated Matus Electric, where Barbara contributed her skills in bookkeeping. Edward preceded her in death on March 15, 2024. Barbara also dedicated her time as a substitute teacher for Connally Independent School District. She found joy in cooking, gardening, dancing, listening to music, and caring for her family and animals. She loved spending time at the lake, water skiing, and enjoying vacations in Corpus Christi and Galveston. Known for her generous heart, Barbara was always ready to help anyone in need and cherished every moment spent at family gatherings. Barbara is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry Kramolis and Daniel Kramolis; sisters, Helen Hromadka and Rosalie Kramolis; and a sister-in-law, Frances Matus. Survivors include her son, Randy Matus of Hallsburg; a brother, Bob Kramolis and wife Jeanelle; sisters-in-law, Willa Mae Kramolis and Katherine Foitek and husband Bill; brothers-in-law, Larry Matus and wife Sandy, and David Matus and wife Donna; and many nieces, nephews, including her niece and caregiver, Lindy Herrell; other relatives and friends.
