Michael "Mike R. Bedke, 73, of Kearney, died May 2, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society - St. Luke's in Kearney. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, May 8, 2025 at the Pleasanton E-Free Church with Pat Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Pleasnaton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, May 7. 2025 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mike was born on September 22, 1951, in Kearney to Robert and Margaret (Kirschner) Bedke. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1970 and then attended Central Nebraska Technical College in Hastings to pursue a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Mike married Karen Cafferty on January 24, 1976, in Pleasanton. They lived between Pleasanton and Ravenna where he farmed and they raised two children. Mike tried to instill a good work ethic and dedication to family. He and Karen would have been married for 50 years next January. Mike enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. Also, he liked to go camping, boating, fishing, and playing cards with friends. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen Bedke of Kearney; son, Doug and Keri Bedke of Ravenna; daughter Carmela and Jon Hjetland of Ravenna; grandchildren, Kailee Bedke, Kaiden Bedke, Payton Bedke, Briley Schmidt, and Ariah Schmidt; brothers, Roger Bedke of Kearney, Dennis and Deb Bedke of Kearney, Keith and Regina Bedke of Pleasanton. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don "Champ" Bedke, a niece, and nephew.
