Margaret P. Bedke, 90, of Kearney, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at CHI Health – Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Margaret was born on January 25, 1930 in Kearney, NE to Robert and Louise (Schwab) Kirschner. She attended Pleasanton High School and graduated with the class of 1948. After high school she married Robert D. Bedke on April 25, 1950 in Pleasanton. The couple were blessed with 5 sons; Michael, Roger, Donald, Dennis and Keith. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Mary’s Altar Society and also the Majors Neighborhood Extension Club. In addition to spending time with her family Margaret also enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden, feeding the birds and squirrels, and listening to polka music. She was also a wonderful baker and cook. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Michael and Karen Bedke of Kearney, Roger Bedke of Kearney, Dennis and Debbie Bedke of Kearney and Keith and Regina Bedke of Pleasanton; brother, Kenneth and June Kirschner of Ravenna; brother in law, Merlin “Sam” and Cindy Bedke of North Platte; 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous other extended family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son Donald; Grandson, Jeremiah Bedke; sister, Irene Steinhauser; brother, Charles Kirschner.
