Donald L. “Champ” Bedke, 64, of Pleasanton, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at C.H.I. Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born April 7, 1954 in Kearney to Robert and Margaret (Kirschner) Bedke. He grew up in Pleasanton and graduated from Pleasanton High in 1972. He farmed with his father at Pleasanton then worked various occupations. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Buffalo County for over 30 years until retiring for health reasons. He continued to work at the family farm. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton. He liked fixing things and tinkering and especially enjoyed spending time with nieces and nephews. Surviving relatives include his mother, Margaret Bedke of Pleasanton; brothers, Mike Bedke and wife Karen, Roger Bedke, Dennis Bedke and wife Debra, all of Kearney and Keith Bedke and wife Regina of Pleasanton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1995 and 1 nephew, Jeremiah Bedke .
