Mrs. MARY MARGARET (CHASTAIN) DIXON was the daughter of Charles Lewis Chastain and Mrs. Viola Myrtle (Heflin Chastain) Fowler. Obituary "Margaret Dixon went to meet her Savior and Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2005 after a lengthy illness at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. A memorial service to celebrate her life is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Parkside Baptist Church at 301 North Lillis in Denison. Bro. Tom Nesbitt, of Ames, Iowa, and Bro. Leon Haas, of Cartwright, Oklahoma, will officiate. Family time will be at the church preceding the service at 1 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the family home in Denison. Mrs. Dixon was born Mary Margaret Chastain in Marshall, Texas on January 3, 1933 to Charles Lewis Chastain and Viola Heflin Chastain. She went to school at Buckner Orphanage in Dallas and in Marshall. She married Billy "Bill" Carp Dixon Sr. on April 19, 1951 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was a member of Hagerman Baptist Church in Sherman. She loved the Lord and was an "encourager" to all who knew her. She wanted everyone to know Jesus. Even after she became very ill she went on mission trips to New Mexico and South Dakota and shared her faith with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Dixon, of Denison; four daughters and their husbands, Pat and Dale Rapp, Frances and Mike Carrell, Jame and Keith Swindell, all of Pottsboro, and Sandy and Joe Petree, of Savoy; one son and his wife, Billy (Bok) Jr. and Karen Dixon, of Sherman; one brother and his wife, James Oliver and Bette Chastain of Statesville, North Carolina; one step-sister, JoAnn Kimbell, of Shongaloo, Louisiana; a special sister-in-law, Faye Dell Petty, of Granbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Chastain; and her sister, June Rogers; and her parents. She was "Granny" to twelve grandchildren: Brent Jackson of Sherman, Ricky Powell, Amy Gage, Kasey Carrel, Kelley Carrell, Nathan Carrell, Dixon Carrell, Lindsay Swindell and Hannah Swindell all of Pottsboro, Robyn Petree-Schatz of Oklahoma City, Jenny Harris of Savoy and Jessica Hibbard of Denison. She had ten great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations may be made to Buckner's Orphan Care international at 600 North Pearl Street, Suite 1900, Dallas, Texas 75201. The family will receive visitors between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parkside Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the director of Bratcher Funeral Home of Denison."
