Bio

Nannie was the daughter of John W Monk and Cornelia Samantha Johnson. She married Rice Releford Ramsey in Franklin County on the 10th of August 1891 and lived most of her life in Gilmer, Texas. She died while visiting family. Her children were Birdie Lee Ramsey Smith 1892 - 1977, Desser Mae Ramsey Tompkins 1895 - 1963, Evie Jane Ramsey Shamburger 1897 - 1957, and John Rice Ramsey 1898 - 1943. Nothing is known about her father. Nannie's brother, William David Monk 1871 - 1966 shows father was John W Monk on his death certificate. Her mother married John Anderson Nations about 1873 and had six more children. It is unknown if Nannie is buried in Morris Cemetery, but other family members are Texas US Death Index, 1903 - 2000 shows R R Ramsey died 18 Oct 1929 Harrison County certificate 49540 Nannie had an aunt; Elizabeth Drucilla Johnson Seay and their grandmother was Drucilla Holliday Hargrove Holder, a granddaughter named Dorothy Drucella Shamburger. I wonder if that was Nannie's middle name as well.
