Chisholm Trail Shopper, July 11, 2008 Funeral services for CHARLIE JOE REYNOLDS, 76, of Muenster, Texas, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the McCoy Funeral Chapel in Muenster, with Larry Safford, a nephew, officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ryan (Okla.) Cemetery. Services are directed by McCoy Funeral Home in Muenster. Mr. Reynolds died at 11:52 a.m. Sunday in Denton (Texas) Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 12, 1931, in Blackburn, Okla., Charlie was one of the six children of Ross H. and Lorene White Reynolds. He was a Baptist, a retiree from the U.S. Army, a retiree from the police force, and had worked some ten years for Sacred Heart School and also for the Lindsay School. He had lived the past 14 years in Muenster. Charlie was a veteran of the Korean conflict, where he spent two tours of duty on the front lines. He then became a Vietnam veteran where he held the job of Truckmaster. He received numerous medals for his efforts in defense of this country. He earned the rank of staff sergeant, E-6. Charlie served on several police forces for a total of about 20 years; his last service was for the city of Lindsay. Charlie completed high school and then attended Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth. He always enjoyed horse racing and the school sports in both Sacred Heart and in Lindsay. He also enjoyed traveling, and really liked his work and the people he associated with. He was widely known and appreciated in the Muenster and Lindsay areas. Charlie was a hardworking, honest man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Charlie Reynolds of Oklahoma, and Joey Reynolds of North Carolina; two sisters, Virginia Eakman of Bridgeport, Texas, and Patricia Stinnett of Duncan, Okla.; a brother, Alfred Reynolds of Duncan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Lorene Reynolds, and brothers, Kenneth Ray and Ross Reynolds.
