Sallie Nan (Crowder) Platt, 85, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Itasca. Born in Cleburne to Murray and Sallie Crowder on May 18, 1939, she lived her entire life on a dairy farm in Joshua, Texas. She had four brothers and one sister who preceded her in death. Sallie became a Christian at age 17 at a tent revival in Joshua, Texas. After high school graduation, Sallie moved to Dallas and began working as a phone operator for Southwestern Bell. She met Morris Platt and married after a brief courtship on March 5, 1960. They were married forty-nine years. They lived in Washington D.C., Georgia and several places in Texas. She began working for Delta Airlines in the early 1960's as a supervisor for the southwest division. Sallie loved cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She lived with her daughter Renetta and son-in-law, Mike Key after her husband's passing in 2009. She worked part-time at Home Depot in Cleburne and was very active in Central Baptist Church of Itasca. Additionally, she was a full-time babysitter for her grandchildren. Sallie drove her Jeep right up until she turned eighty-five after breaking her leg. She has more friends from her days in Joshua and beyond - work associates and employees. Sallie was particularly bold in sharing her faith in Jesus Christ to anyone who would allow it. Sallie was blessed with two children, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
