Tom Drake (Tommie) Crowder, 78, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 with his family by his side in Eastland, Texas. Burial at Eastland City Cemetery. Mr. Crowder was born June 15, 1937 in Cleburne, Texas to Murray and Sally Crowder. After graduating from High School in Joshua, Texas, Tom served in the United States Marine Corp for three years. In 1958 he came back to Texas with his wife, Setsuko. He began working for Lone Star Gas Company in 1959 as District Manager of Operations for the Southwest Region. Tom retired after devoting 39 years to such a rewarding career. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Eastland, the Eastland Masonic Lodge #467, the Eastland Lions Club, the Eastland Co. Water Supply District, and various charities. He is survived by his wife, Setsuko Crowder; son, Tom Crowder II and wife Ashley, grandson, Joshua Crowder and wife Kipi; granddaughter, Jamie Crowder; grandson, Gage Crowder; great grandchildren, Teagan, Brinlee, and Riggin; sister, Sally Platt; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Douglas Crowder; parents, Murray and Sally Crowder; siblings, Murray Jr., Elmer, Angus, and Margie.
