Bio

Angeline (Angie) Georgia Slovacek, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Ennis, Texas, on Friday, April 11, 2025. Angie was born in Ennis, Texas on August 21, 1941, to Frank John and Bessie Stephanie (Vrla) Kubin. She grew up in Ennis, Texas and graduated from St. John High School in 1959. On May 20, 1961, Angie married the love of her life, Emil R. Slovacek, Sr. and they made their home in Ennis. Angie worked for Dr. Larry Dunkerly as his office manager in Ennis and as a receptionist for Lincoln Property Company in Dallas. Angie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and KJZT #25. Angie enjoyed dancing (especially polka and waltz), singing, sporting events, gardening, yard work and her Czech heritage. Her family was the light of her life. Angie is preceded in death by her husband, Emil R. Slovacek, Sr., daughter, Rosemarie Slovacek; granddaughter, Jenna Wingo Rejcek, parents: Frank J. and Bessie Kubin; siblings: Frank Kubin, Joe Kubin, Bessie Vavra, Leslie Kubin, Mildred Cepica and Willie Kubin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Internment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and love to our dear sister-in-saw, Stacy Slovacek, for the endless and unconditional compassion and care provided to our mother. We would additionally like to express our gratitude and appreciation to Talina and Augusta and all the caregivers from Bristol Hospice for the love and care shown to our mother.
