Bio
Atrelle Findley Connolly passed away July 4, 2008, at a Hillsboro hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, with Dr. Allan Lane of Forth Graham Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Atrelle was born in Clifton, Texas, to the late Marcus Andrew and Bessie Marie (Ingram) Findley. She grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School and Hillsboro Junior College. She taught school for 12 years at various Hill County schools. Atrelle married Strat Connolly on Sept. 4, 1964. She was city secretary for 29 years in Whitney and worked for the Whitney Housing Authority for 35 years. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 15, 1976; and sisters, Sibyl Lott, Sylvas Saunders and Bettye Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Stellabotte, of Whitney; brother, Horace Findley and wife, Phyllis, of Whitney; sister, Billie Barnett, of Whitney; grandchildren, Tonya Deggs and husband, Cody, of Gatesville, Wendy Dove and husband, Butch, of Whitney, and Stephen Frank, Jr., of Whitney; great-grandchildren, Heather Whiddon, Colton Rios, Brandon Frank, Victoria Langley and Garrett Langley, all of Whitney; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, loved ones and neighbors.
