Billie Findley Barnett of Whitney passed away on August 3, 2021. Billie was born in Clifton, Texas, on June 19, 1929, to Marcus A. Findley and Bessie Marie (Ingram) Findley. Billie graduated from Whitney High School in 1946 and from Hillsboro Junior College in 1948, and she attended North Texas State College in Denton in 1948-1949. She worked for First National Bank of Whitney for 35 years and Waco Savings and Loan for 15 years. She and her husband, Lewis E. Barnett, owned Barnett Food Mart for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Barnett; her mother and her father, Marcus A. Findley and Bessie Marie (Ingram) Findley; sisters, Sibyl Lott, Sylvas Saunders, Atrelle Connelly, and Bettie Smith; brother, Horace Findley; niece, Nanette Smith and nephew, Paul Dietiker. Billie is survived by her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Findley; Paula Bruner and husband Carmen, J Lyn Findley and wife Candice, Tonya Degges and husband Cody, Wendy Dove and husband Roger, and Sarah Stellabotte along with many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews and a very dear, special friend Helen Truitt Roick for 81 years.
