Bio

Anthony John Ott, 62, of El Campo passed away on February 17, 2025. He was born on December 22, 1962 in El Campo to the late Frankey J. and Martha Shimek Ott. Anthony graduated from El Campo High School with honors in 1981. He attended WCJC and graduated in 1989 with an associate degree in HVAC systems. He was a jack of all trades and mastered them all. In his early years, he worked for Cecil Kinard in construction. He followed this with a short stint in the oilfield. He found his calling when he landed a job with Eldridge Air Conditioning. Realizing this was his dream, he took a leap of faith and started his own air conditioning business. Through blood, sweat, tears and sheer determination he built a very successful business. The only thing that outshined his ability to fix anything was his love, compassion, and generosity to his customers. He was truly a selfless person who found no greater joy than helping others. Anthony loved nothing more than his children, grandchildren, and family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. They were always greeted with lottery tickets and dollar bills. His favorite past time was playing dominos with family and friends and his love for the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched. We can't forget his love for his 4-legged friends Bullet, Roxy, Taz, and Ranger. Anthony touched many hearts, was loved by all, and will truly be missed. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus 2490, was selected Knight of the month in August 2007, and Knight of the year in 2008. Survivors include his children Chad Ott (Cheryl), Heather Ott Rhyne (Chris), and Anthony John Ott Jr. "A.J." (Monica); grandchildren Coen, Case, Paisley, Fynleigh, Bailey Jo, Sullivan and Traise; sisters Karen Jedlicka (Jimmie), Debbie Long (Boyed); brothers Daniel Ott (Ann), Stanley Ott (Carrie); brother in law Daniel Kasper; godchildren Denise Dorotik, Leslie Sanchez, and Skylar, Seth, and Spencer Hallinger; and many nieces and nephews Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene Ott, sister Adeline Kasper, and nephew Michael Kaspar. Visitation will begin on Friday February 21, 2025 at 5 pm at Triska Funeral Home with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025 at 10 am at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Dalton Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lutz, Jeff Balcar, Ben Castillo, Josh Castillo, Rodney Jedlicka, and Israel Griffin.
