Bio

Thanks to FAG Contributor, The Busbooms (48605773), for Emily's grave location and a photo of her grave marker. A great addition to her memorial. March 18, 2025 ---------------------------------------- Emily Eisenman 1926 - 2024 Emily was born on July 19th, 1926 and passed away on November 2nd, 2024 at the age of 98. Emily Esther Eisenman was born on a farm in Platte County south of Lindsay, NE on July 19, 1926. She was the oldest of four children born to Nels and Mildred Christensen. Emily attended Looking Glass Country School, through 10th grade. After her father was hospitalized in the early 1940s she helped her mother keep things operating on the farm until her father returned home. Sometime after that, she worked in the bomber plant in Bellevue, Nebraska during World War II. She met her future husband, Al, through her father sometime in 1945. They were married the following year in 1946. For the next few years, Emily and Alfred moved around some before finally in 1953 settling in Lincoln where they raised their eight children. In 1981, she lost her husband, Alfred, so for the next ten years she lived alone. In 1991 she met Ed Eisenman and they were married the following year. In 1995, they moved to Arizona living in Phoenix for a short time and eventually moving to Sun City West. The couple moved back to Omaha, NE, in 1998. They lived in Omaha for about a year then decided they should've stayed in Arizona and returned to Sun City. They lived there for about ten years then decided they wanted again to come back this time moving to Bellevue, Nebraska. After Bellevue, they moved one more time to Omaha, then back to Lincoln where the couple lived in a 55+ apartment complex. After Ed's death in 2018, she then moved to the Lexington Assisted Living and was there until July of this year. She was relocated to hospice care where she lived for the next three and a half months before her passing. Her time with Ed was filled with many trips they went on during their 25 years together. Emily is survived by her brother, George (Margaret) Christensen; sister, Margaret Langen; son, Lenny Bloebaum; daughter, Linda (Avery) Pickering; Dannie (Peggy) Bloebaum, Randy Bloebaum, Reggie Bloebaum, Patti (Gabe) Scott, and Donald (Teri) Bloebaum. She is also survived by her 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Mildred Christensen; husbands, Alfred Bloebaum and Ed Eisenman; son, Steve Bloebaum; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bloebaum; and sister, Helen Socha. Services will be held at Heartlands Church, 10000 Yankee Hill Road, Lincoln, NE at 11 AM on November 8, 2024.
