Bio

Emilia was born in Czecho-Slovakia, the daughter of Matous and Agnes Shrhok. She died at a local hospital after several months of illness in Sherman,Texas. She came to the United States in 1907 and married Gabriel Horak in 1914 in Granger, Texas where she lived prior to moving to Tioga, Texas. Mrs. Horak was a member of the Catholic Church. She was survived by her husband; sons, Oldrich, Gabriel and Emil Horak; daughters, Mrs. Rosa Jaresh, and Miss Bessie Horak; and step-son Fred Tesar. Mass of Christian Burial were celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church , Sherman, with pastor Very Right Monsignor E. V. McCullough and Father Paul Carcut of Pilot Point, Texas officiating. An obituary appeared on the Sherman Democrat newspaper on 17 March 1944.
